Purchase Condition Value Surveys
A purchase condition and value survey is the most involved type of survey. It involves a full, comprehensive inspection of the entire vessel with regard to the US Code of Federal Regulations (USCG), American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and practices. A purchase condition and value survey is typically done with the vessel both hauled and afloat. Masts may be stepped or unstepped. A trial run is typically conducted as part of this survey type. Both a written and photo report are provided with the specifications of the vessel along with an extensive list of findings, notations and recommendations for the vessel. All purchase condition and value surveys include a current fair market value and a replacement cost of the vessel.
Re-insurance Condition & Value Surveys
Overall inspection with an emphasis on systems, required USCG equipment, safety and navigation equipment and hazards that may cause harm to the vessel, operator and crew. All re-insurance condition and value surveys include a current fair market value and a replacement cost of the vessel.
Damage Surveys
Damage surveys are performed to assess damages to a vessel after an incident, such as lightning strikes, groundings, striking submerged objects, storms, wind and snow damage, collisions, allisions, faulty repairs and fire. These surveys are typically conducted for vessel owners, builders or insurance underwriters.
